Kinjil Mathur serves as Chief Marketing Officer of Squarespace, the design-driven platform helping entrepreneurs build brands and businesses online. She oversees the company’s world-class marketing and PR teams. Since joining Squarespace in 2017, Kinjil has launched strategic partnerships and creative marketing initiatives that support the company’s mission of helping entrepreneurs stand out and succeed. She led the multi-year strategic partnership between Squarespace and Madison Square Garden to not only become the New York Knicks’ first jersey partner but together, the organizations launched the Make It Awards, an annual competition awarding grants to diverse entrepreneurs and small businesses to further their businesses and support their local communities. In addition, Kinjil led an Equal Pay Day campaign that galvanized feminist Squarespace customers by raising awareness of gender pay gaps, resulting in the biggest sales day in Squarespace history at the time – exemplifying her personal mission to reposition a CMO’s remit to include driving business impact through social impact.Kinjil has been awarded multiple industry honors. She was named to Adweek’s ranking of the top 20 Tech Savvy CMOs, Campaign’s CMO 50 list, and one of Adweek’s Young Influentials, along with Forbes’ inaugural CMO Next list, Ad Age’s Women to Watch and Business Insider’s 27 Most Innovative CMOs in the World. Vogue India named her one of the 50 Most Influential Global Indians. Kinjil serves on the CMO Advisory Council for Spotify, President’s Leadership Council for Search for Common Ground, and Board of Advisors to Sama AI and Ellevest. She is an active angel investor with a sharp focus on investing in female and BIPOC founded businesses.She holds a bachelor’s degree with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in Management of Information Systems and Finance.
