We are excited for our first Face 2 Face with Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, President and CEO of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (@lirsorg), and Manisha Bharti, CEO of Pratham USA (@prathamusa), on Wednesday, April 20 at 5 PM ET.

Join this intimate forum with these two non-profit trailblazers – as they exchange stories, questions, and insights about their journeys, their identities, and the impact they are driving in their respective non-profit spaces.

Krish O’Mara Vignarajah is the President and CEO of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS). She previously served as Policy Director for First Lady Michelle Obama and as Senior Advisor under Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. At the White House, Krish led the First Lady’s signature Let Girls Learn initiative. At the State Department, she coordinated development and implementation of multiple programs including those concerning refugees and migration, engagement with religious communities, the legal dimensions of U.S. foreign policy, and regional issues relating to Africa and the Middle East.

Before joining the White House, Krish practiced law at Jenner & Block in Washington, DC, clerked for Chief Judge Michael Boudin on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and taught at Georgetown University as an adjunct. She holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology and an M.A. in Political Science from Yale College, a J.D. from Yale Law School, and an M.Phil in International Relations from Oxford University (Marshall Scholarship). Krish has been recognized as one of The Daily Record’s Most Admired CEOs, Top 50 Influential Marylanders and Top 100 Women.
 
Manisha Bharti is the first CEO of Pratham USA and Global Executive and brings over 25 years of professional experience in global development.
 
Previously, Manisha was chief of strategy and programs at GHR Foundation, one of Minnesota’s largest philanthropic organizations, where she oversaw a grant portfolio within health, education and international development. She also served as secretary and board member of the Global Solidarity Fund. From 2005 to 2016, Manisha held numerous positions at FHI 360, one of the premier global nongovernmental organizations, including chief strategy officer from 2013 to 2016.  Manisha has also worked for the United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), McKinsey & Company, UNICEF, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, FXB Foundation, and the Canadian and Ontario governments. She is the youngest person to have served on a Canadian royal commission, having been appointed to the Ontario Royal Commission on Learning in the mid-1990s.
 
Manisha graduated with honors from Harvard University, earning an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in social studies. She also earned two master’s degrees with honors, in business administration and public health, from Johns Hopkins University. She is soon to be certified as a Racially Conscious Collaborator, is an active participant in the 2021 Class of the GEO Change Leaders in Philanthropy Fellowship and has a lifetime appointment as the secretary of her graduating class at Harvard.
